Hi! This page includes detailed information about me and my teaching career! I hope you enjoy. - Miss Lawhorn
About Me:
I have been teaching in both parochial and public schools in Massachusetts for over five years. After I graduated from college in Florida, I returned home to earn my Masters in Education from Lesley University. Throughout my teaching career, I have been fortunate enough to teach a variety of elementary grade levels. As an educator, I love to motivate my students with contagious enthusiasm and creative passion. I love to travel, sail, exercise, spend time with family&friends, and most importantly - teach!

La Jolla, California with giant local seals! They LOVE the sun :)
This is a photograph of a school I came upon in the jungle of the Dominican Republic. The school had no air conditioning (the average temperature is in the high 80's year round), bathroom or doors. The students at this school are bused hours from their homes to receive an education that is unattainable to most in this third world country. The students photographed are taught together and range from ages 4 to 11. I am extremely grateful to have been given the opportunity to meet these incredible children and see what their daily lives are like.
Some of the students! This rare school had little to no resources. Most of the supplies they receive are donated from countries like the United States.
